Chris Rodriguez
Mr. Chris Rodriguez is a Colorado native from southern Colorado. Mr. Rodriguez was raised in Chama, CO a village outside of San Luis. He moved to San Luis, the oldest Town in Colorado, in 1992 after marrying his wife Tammy and the birth of their son James.
Mr. Rodriguez served as the Town of San Luis Mayor from April 6, 2006, to April 6, 2010. He has also served on many boards including Water and Sanitation, Costilla County Housing Authority, and is currently the School Board President for Centennial R-1. He retired as Director of the Costilla County Ambulance Service in January 2020.
Chris is currently the Costilla County Deputy Administrator and Deputy Emergency Manager, previously serving as Emergency Manager and was promoted in January to the newly created position of Deputy Administrator, and remained on board as the Deputy EM. In January 2017 disaster struck his jurisdiction in the form of a large snow emergency dropping no less than 4' of snow in one week. In June of 2018, the Spring Fire erupted in Costilla County, at the time the second-largest fire in Colorado history. Mr. Rodriguez was the Emergency Manager for both incidents saving many lives during these incidents. Due to his efforts, he was named the Colorado Emergency Management Association (CEMA) SLV Region Emergency Manager of the Year in back-to-back years, a feat that was never been done before or since.
